Respiratory Alkalosis Compensation

Respiratory alkalosis is a medical condition that results due to hyperventilation. The body fluids become more alkaline due to changes in the acid to base pH ration in the body.

Respiratory Alkalosis of fluids in the lungs can also cause the failure. Alkalosis causes the level of carbon dioxide in the body to fall below the normal range, and the level of oxygen to rise.

 A drop in the level of carbon dioxide in the body changes the pH of the blood, and makes it more alkaline.

However, other than the above mentioned reasons, resorting to mouth breathing can be a symptom of other ailments and this itself can beckon a string of various negative health conditions.
